Happy Valentine's Day! I love each and every one of you!
Many of you have asked about my health...as of today, the Disabilty Department has sent me to another neurologist for a second opinion. He also diagnosed me with Multiple Sclerosis. Hopefully it will not be long until they make a decision and we have more income flowing through the household. Things have been rough, however GOD has a plan and has allowed our family to make it throughout all of this!

The new CD "Come Out Praising" made its debut on January 1st back home in Kentucky! You can order your copy today for $12 each, which includes me shipping it to you or 2 for $20. Feel free to email me at LauraKPolston@yahoo.com or facebook me to let me know how many you need and the address to send it to. You can mail your check or money order to
2011 Manhattan Parkway Decatur, GA 30035 I hope you will be blessed with the new recording as we have been!

My dear Sir Frederick received straight A's for his first semester of Seminary and is currently in his second semester! We are so proud of him! He is learning so much and is not shy about sharing CHRIST with his friends, family or strangers. I Praise the Lord for that!

Alexis is doing great in school! She made the Track and Field Team and the Coach has already said that he sees a lot in her and can guarantee her a scholarship if not more for Track. last year was her first year in Track and she broke a state record in Kentucky in the Shot Putt...She is my strong and beautiful little lady and we are so proud of her!

I hope all of you have a blessed and wonderful Valentine's Day! Remember the greatest Valentine's gift of all was God giving us his son to die on the cross for us. We are so unworthy of such a gift!

In HIS Name,

Laura K

WOW!

Posted by Laura on December 21, 2010

WOW! Tis the season to be jolly…I love this time of year and listening to all of the Christmas music! There have been many things going on that I want to inform you of since I last wrote to you!

On August 10th I woke up with a terrible pain in my hip – It got continuously worse throughout the day – I thought I needed an adjustment at the chiropractor so I called and made an appt for when I got off work. The pain was so bad I went during my lunch break – it had gotten to where the pain went thru my hip and down my right leg to where I could not walk. The chiropractor did some shock therapy and gave me an adjustment – she went on to say that something was attacking my nerves and I needed to see a neurologist. She made me an appointment for Monday, August 16th.

I went to see the neuro and he ran many tests – there was no feeling in my right leg so he set me up for an MRI and wanted to see me on August 30th. I went back on August 30th and found out that my MRI's read that I had 4 large lesions and 2 large cysts on the brain which are consistent with Multiple Sclerosis. He wanted to put me immediately through IV Treatments for 3 days and also scheduled a spinal tap to see the extremities of the MS. I was tore up and had to call my daddy before heading over for my first round of treatment. I felt like my world was spinning and I had no idea why Satan is attacking our family in this way.

I went through the round of treatments and had the spinal tap – that was a terrible experience because I ended up having a leak in my spinal fluid and had terrible headaches and was unable to lift my head for 5 days. I had to go back to the hospital and have another procedure done to stop the leakage of the spinal fluid. A couple of days later, the headaches went away, Praise the Lord!

I have been off of work since August 10th and have had to apply for disability. I still have no feeling in my right leg and have to get around by walker or wheelchair. We are still awaiting to hear from the disability department – it takes awhile.

On November 10, 2010, my sweet grandmother, Eva Polston, was promoted to Glory. We lost the matriarch of our family, and though our hearts are sad, we rejoice that Grandma is in Heaven with Grandpa and with Jesus. We know where she is and I can't wait to see her again! The heavenly choir is sounding sweeter with Grandma’s voice joining them. We were able to travel back to Kentucky for the funeral and come back home in time for a Dr's appointment.

The neurologist performed more sensory tests on my right leg and I still have no feeling in my right leg. He wanted me to go through another round of treatments for 3 days to see if it would help so he placed the order or that. He went on to say that I may never get the feeling back in my right leg – I have now come to terms with that, but I am going to lean on Jesus. Whatever is HIS will is fine with me!

Since then, I have lost the feeling in my right hand for a couple of days and my sight is decreasing, however I am in good spirits. I know that GOD has a purpose and a reason that we are going through what we are going through. I have decided to continue to use my God-given talents and sing and spread the message of Christ – I am currently booking for the 2011 year and being blessed with churches calling for me to come and sing and give a testimony.

Come out and join us for the New Year’s Extravaganza on January 1st at the Cropper Baptist Church Family Life Center. I will be singing along with 'The Joymakers' from Greensburg, KY and 'The Garry Polston Family' from New Castle, KY. Tickets will be $10 at the door and children 15 and under will be admitted free of charge.

My new CD, 'Come Out Praising' will be debuting at the January 1st concert in Cropper and I am so excited! With the year of 2010 being a trial in itself, I am still going to 'Come Out Praising' the Lord for I am so blessed beyond measure! I am looking forward to what the Lord has in store for my family in the year to come!

I hope you and your families have a safe and blessed Merry Christmas! Remember to not 'X' out Christ and to always remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

WOW!

Posted by Laura on October 01, 2010

WOW! I cannot believe it has been so long since I have written anything to you all! I am going to do better I promise. There has been so much go on so I am going to give you the low down on everything…

August of 2009 –

I went back to school so that I can get my Bachelor's Degree – I am doing all of the classes online which works for me! I work all day, come home and spend time with Alexis and then work all evening and sometimes until 3 or 4 AM on papers and homework. I have two classes each semester and each semester lasts for 5 ½ weeks – then we are off for a week before going back. It goes by so fast! When I graduate in March 2011, I will have a BS in Financial Forensics and I am looking forward to it!

Alexis also started a new school this year and fit in so well – she is just like her mommy and papaw – extremely outgoing! She made the basketball team and of course I was at every game yelling and having a blast! I love basketball games – especially when my baby girl is starting and playing throughout the game.

September 2009 –

We went to the National Quartet Convention in between basketball practices and games. We made it and had the most wonderful time seeing old friends and listening to the best music on the face of this earth. I was especially glad that my fiance' could go with us on Saturday all day. He has never been to anything like this, so he was definitely taking it all in. He ended up loving every minute of it and is ready to go back every year for family vacation!

December 5th, 2009 –

This is one of the best days of my life! I married Frederick William Lack II! We had the most beautiful Christmas wedding at the New Castle United Methodist Church where my father pastors! It was beautiful! Alexis was my maid of honor and looked absolutely gorgeous in her beautiful red gown! We had so many friends and family sharing the special day with us…I will post pictures so that you can see how beautiful the day was!

We celebrated Christmas with my family and drove to Indianapolis, Indiana to be with Grandma Eva Polston and the entire Polston Clan.

January 2010 –

New Year's weekend we had Christmas with Sir Frederick's family. We were having a wonderful time and I am so thankful that they are a part of our lives! They accepted Alexis and I with open arms and we just fell in love with them!

February, 2010 –

Happy Valentine's Day! Sir Frederick bought me flowers and showed up to my work to take me to lunch. Then when Alexis and I got home, he had flowers sitting there for both of us and 2 different heart-shaped pizza's …it was the sweetest thing we ever had and it touched both of us!

March, 2010 –

I was approached at work and asked if I would like to transfer to another state with the bank; either Georgia or Florida. The bank in which I work for bought out another bank and they were looking for people who would like to transfer and assist them in getting ready for audits and training those employees correctly. I of course said 'yes', but I did not think that I would ever be picked to move. I did however think that it would look good to upper management, so of course I will say I would move to either Georgia or Florida…

Sir Frederick announced his call to preach! Although at first, I must admit, I thought I would just die! I have been a preacher's daughter my entire life and I have always said I would never marry a preacher…The Lord has a sense of humor!

In talking to our pastors and my father of course, many things got brought up about where Sir Frederick should go to seminary. Luther Rice Seminary in Georgia was mentioned…Why does Georgia keep coming up? I also know Dr. Ronald Long, a professor and Director of Missions from Luther Rice Seminary, and I thought it was interesting that our pastor brought this up. We prayed about it and thought that we may look around in Georgia on our way to Florida for vacation.

April, 2010 –

The day before leaving for Florida vacation, I received a phone call from a branch in Georgia who wanted to speak to me about a job. We talked and they wanted to set up a full interview – we had a set a time to speak on the phone while I was on vacation.

We went on family vacation on Orlando, Florida and had a wonderful time! We went to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and of course we had to take Sir Frederick to our favorite place, The Holyland Experience! We went to The Holyland Experience and it was so wonderful to experience this with my new husband and as a family. As soon as we go there, a historian came over and talked about the history of the garden tomb. After that, there was a passion play – we then went to a musical presentation in the theatre which was wonderful. Alas, it was then time to go and take communion with Jesus and the disciples. This is my favorite experience! This time was so meaningful to me. Jesus came out from behind the table and spoke and prayed with each individual in the room. He came to me and I just wept. We went thru the park all day and had a wonderful time. The end was nearing and we were told that you do not want to miss it! They presented the passion play, but at the end they have done something new – they lead everyone over to the temple – you then hear the voice of Sandi Patty singing "We Shall Behold Him". As she begins to sing the verse, actors and actresses come out dressed as angels and are dancing and then when the last chorus came on, one of the angels points for everyone to look up the aisle…our Risen Lord we just saw was robed in a glorious purple and gold robe with a huge crown and he was walking with a scepter in his hand. When he walked up the aisle, I just collapsed into Sir Frederick's arms weeping. It was just a small piece of what it is going to be like when Jesus comes back to claim his bride and we go to Heaven. Praise the Lord – I can't explain it but you must go to The Holyland Experience so that you can experience it for yourself!

My phone interview while I was on vacation went great so I decided I wanted to stop in at the branch on our way back home to Kentucky. We stopped in at the branch which is located in Decatur, Georgia. As soon as I walked in the door, I knew that this is where the Lord wanted me to be. I had a wonderful time meeting the manager as well as the rest of the staff there. While I was meeting with the staff at the bank, Sir Frederick noticed that in the shopping center behind the branch there was a 'Dollar Tree' in which he is a manager of one back home. He went in and asked if they were hiring – they so happened to be hiring for a manager and wanted his name and number. We headed for Kentucky praying it seemed the entire way for God's will to be done in our situation and to open the doors that he wants for us.

The following week, I received an offer from the bank and I accepted. At the end of the week, Sir Frederick received a phone call from the District Manager over the 'Dollar Tree' in which he went into while we were in Georgia. They said they would hold the position until we got moved there at the end of May. WOW! The Lord was really opening all of the doors for us to move to Georgia. Now we needed to schedule time to go back and be looking at property or finding a place to live in Georgia very soon.

Two weeks later we drove thru the night and looked at seven different places. The last place was a beautiful town home and was within our budget. We let them know we wanted the property while we were leaving the subdivision! We just knew it was right! Thank you lord for opening all of the right doors for our family and leading the path towards Georgia. We know this is all GOD, and we trust HIM!

May, 2010 –

On Memorial Day weekend, we moved to Decatur, Georgia. We left our families and our home church; we are trusting GOD to take care of us.

June 13, 2010

Today our hearts are heavy. My father-in-law, Frederick William Lack, passed away. He was in the hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio where he had just received some unsettling news and Doctors thought it was cancer. Miss Carolyn called around 4AM. We got packed and started on the road to go back home to be with the family. Alexis had a really hard time as she loved "Pop". He was a wonderful man and I called him my "Silver Fox". I think I fell in love with him before I fell in love with his son. It is hard to believe that he is gone on to Heaven to be with the Lord, but his body could not have handled chemo and I believe that the Lord took him on to Glory since HE knew Pop's body would not have handled it. We covet your prayers for Sir Frederick and the entire family during this time.

June 23, 2010

Today was terrible at work. I got robbed at the bank in which I work. This is the second robbery that I have been involved in at the bank, and I personally am ready for a corner office. I do not feel safe in the branch anymore. The bank is sending me to mandatory counseling due to this being my second time. I am thankful; I feel like I need some help dealing with this because of my fears. I came back home scared to death that someone was following me and I had to be by myself since the hubby was at work. I turned it immediately to the TBN network – I saw Jan on the screen and she said to pray for those who had done us wrong and who have committed a sin against us. I felt the conviction come all over me and began to pray for that young man who robbed me earlier that he be caught or realize the wrong he had done and that he come to know the Lord.

July 3, 2010 –

Well, every day since my robbery back in June, there has been a string of robberies and they are all involving the company in which I work for. It has gotten so bad that we have been told to relay to the staff that if we see a gentleman in the lobby performing the same acts as the other robberies to immediately call security and the police. Well, it happened today! I was with a customer and on my way walking thru the lobby back up to the teller line, a young gentleman looked suspicious in the customer line. As I walked and was looking at him, he looked up and noticed me and turned around and walked around the door. He came in to rob us and saw I was there and left. I called security and the police. I also sent out a mass email to all of the branches so that they would keep a watchful eye out for these guys and hit the alarm if they saw them. Security called me and stated that 10 minutes after the gentleman left my branch that he robbed another branch up the road. These robberies are getting out of hand. I am thankful that I am on vacation for a week!

Alexis has been spending the summer with her grandparents and is coming to her new home in Georgia. I took vacation so that I could spend time with the parents and her this week and I can't wait until they get here!

July 27, 2010

Friday, the 23rd I was having terrible pains in my abdomen and was rushed to the hospital. They ran tests and found that my bowels were wrapped around my old stomach 3 times. They were going to perform emergency surgery. On the 25th I had a scope done so that they could check on the ulcer that I have in my pouch. They said it looked okay and asked me to stay on my medication for that. I was in the hospital until today and got to come home. Thank the Lord! Although the staff was friendly I was ready to be home in my own bed and get some actual rest. I will be going back to work on August 2nd!

August 9, 2010

Alexis started high school today! I am feeling so old! I cannot believe that my sweet baby girl is a Freshman this year – time has flown by so much! I love you Alexis Ruby and I am so proud of you!

Well everyone, first let me apologize for taking so long to get back to you. The last blog I wrote we just had gone on vacation and I said I was gonna send you some pics...well my computer then passed away of all the earth...then I moved to Georgetown, KY with my job and that has been a little stressing...

I am gonna first give you the pics that you have been wanting to see from family vacation.

On Tuesday of that week, we went to a Christian Theme park owned by TBN called "The Holyland Experience!" This was the most awesome experience. We drove up and you could hear Christian music playing...They were playing "Days of Elijah"...beautiful!

As we were approaching the gate, a man came out and starting blowing the Shofar...Dad greeted him with a "shalom" and the man started speaking in Hebrew to dad. It was amazing and dad started to weep. The man then began to tell us that if we wanted to see the first miracle, the wedding of cana, it was about to start...so we went on in and took a seat to see the first mini-play.

It was wonderful! It was about 15 minutes...and to see the man who played Jesus was awesome! Then another play was going to start in about another 15 minutes so dad and I started to walk around. We came back just in time to see another play featuring Jesus performing many other miracles...then he came out into the audience and said, "Let the children come to me" and wanted the children of the audience to come up to him. I wanted Alexis to go up there but she thought she was too big! Then a little handicapped girl went up to the man playing the part of Jesus and said, "Jesus!" and gave him a huge hug and just couldn't take her eyes away from him...I just sat there and wept bout the beautiful moment!

After this play we all began to walk around and we were asked if we would like to take communion with Jesus...How awesome! We wet into this place and sat on a stool....then some Disciples came out and told about the last night they were with Jesus taking communion and then Jesus came out...He passed out the communion elements and we all just sat there weeping...taking communion with about 15 other people, raising our hands and then Jesus led us in song "alleluia...alleluia...alleluia...alleluia...Lord I Praise You! Lord I Praise You! Lord I Praise You! Lord I Praise you!" It was so beautiful!

As we went around the park there was just an overwhelming feeling of love and devotion in this place. There is also learning experiences as well. We wen back to watch a longer play..The Crucifixion scene...wow! The music and scenes are just awesome...but thank GOD it did not end there! HE HAS RISEN! Hallelujah!

I highly recommend you to go to Orlando, Florida and visit THE HOLYLAND EXPERIENCE! It is such a wonderful time and way more moving than a little mouse in the same area!

You can see pics of The Holyland Experience here

Vacation was a wonderful time...up until we were coming home. After leaving Friday a Cracker Barrel somewhere n Georgia, I drove to get us to the other side of Atlanta. Then Dad took over driving so I could rest. I feel like I just had fallen asleep when all of the sudden I heard a huge "bang" and the car started swerving. Scared me to death...Come to find out there was something in the middle of the road that someone hit and knocked it to where we were and dad didn't see it. So we ran over it and started going everywhere. Dad pulled the car over and then another car pulled right behind us who had hit it as well. We had 1 flat tire and losing air in another tire very rapidly.

There was a Vehicle Enforcement office who called state police and wrecker for us...They came and filed report...the wrecker took mom and dad to the nearest hotel and of course Alexis and I had to ride with the state trooped in the back seat like criminals...can you say "embarrassing"?! LOL! He was very nice country boy and began talking to us...Alexis mentioned that we sang and he asked Alexis and I to sing "Amazing Grace" to him...we did and he loved it. He said it would make his night! We got to the hotel and got in the bed around 3 AM - seemed like just as soon as we laid down, the alarm (dad had me set) went off...we had to get wrecker and find out how much damage there was to the car...dad left with the man and called a little while later...damage was to the Wheels as well so they were out looking for new wheels for the car...when they got to a place of business where they found the wheels, the owners were a father & son who were also ministers. Everyone we met thru out this whole escapade were Christians...they ended up giving dad a deal on the wheels...Lord Bless those men and their business and their finances for helping us!

We got back on the road and headed for home - got home around 6:30 PM - whew! Thank the Lord! No more driving to Orlando - from now on it is flying for me! LOL!

Look for Vacation Pics here!

Last night in Somerset, KY was fantabulous! We had a great turn out for the Community Singing and the choir never sounded so great! Bill "GAITHER" Twyman has pulled it off yet again...

It was great to see our dear friends and meet new ones. I was personally glad to see Executive Producer of my last CD, Bobby Lee there...he came to play for a couple of different groups that were singing. It was so good to see him!

I am enjoying Sunny Florida right now - after the concert, we headed to Orlando, Florida and drove all thru the night. We headed out about 10 PM and I drove until 6:30 AM - Lord I was tired and was beginning to get slap happy after being awake for 24 hours straight.

Dad took over for about 15 - 20 minutes and then mom drove for about an hour. We stopped somewhere in Georgia to eat breakfast at The Cracker Barrel - and I was back to driving. I drove for couple of hours and was about to fall asleep so mom took the driving back over and got us to our destination. We got there and checked in, unloaded the car, and dad went straight to sleep. Bless his heart - he did not rest at all in the car. He is used to sleeping with a C-PAP machine and for reason you have to be able to plug it in for it to work...hence no rest for dad.

Mom, Alexis and I headed to Walmart grocery to get a few things to last us through the week...we are now back, dad is resting, Alexis is heading to the pool, I am wondering why the Louisville ballgame is not on TV down here and then heading to bed...For some reason I am tired.

I am posting pics from the Community Singing on the website here - will try to send so me vacation pics out soon after we get home!

God bless each and every one of you!

Over this past weekend was a wonderful time for me. On Friday evening around 12:00 midnight, I received a phone call from Jeremy Dickerson, a dear friend of mine who sings with Southern Harmony Quartet. Jeremy called needing a HUGE favor...Stanley, their tenor singer for the group, found out he has cancer and had emergency surgery...the group was schedule to sing Saturday night, Sunday Morning and Sunday evening and needed some help. I told them I would be happy to help them out. On Saturday after I got off work, I headed to Somerset, KY to meet up with the guys. Jeremy gave me directions to his and his wife (Ashley) house. As soon as I got there I asked how much time I had to get ready and he said, "10 minutes"! So I started to get ready so we can get to meet the rest of the guys. We got to the church, unloaded and set everything up just in time to go over like 6 songs before the concert. Now this is definitely something I am not used to. I am used to going to a concert prepared and knowing a list of songs that you may sing...well we sang and I had a great time. It was sooo much fun singing with a group again! Everyone there was so nice to me and made me feel so welcomed.

After the concert, we headed back to the house to watch the Big East Championship basketball game between Louisville and Syracuse - GO CARDS! It was so exciting for me to see Louisville win! Then off to bed to get a little rest before the big concert tomorrow morning.

On Sunday we sang in Sparksville, KY at Antioch Methodist Church...we got there to go over a few more songs to make me feel a little more comfortable...the guys pulled a fast one on me on Saturday night...they told the audience that I was gonna "bless their hearts" with my rendition of "Oh What A Savior" and I have never sang that song in my life...LORD I thought I was gonna kill em and tell God they died! LOL!

After the morning service we went to eat and then pay a visit to Stanley...He was laid up in a recliner and seemed to be in good spirits, however he was heavily medicated bless his heart. We left and headed to the church for the evening...Hadley's Community Church in Fairplay, KY... this was awesome time for me as I have sang at this church many times and know great friends from there.

I want to ask all of you to pray for Stanley, the tenor and that this cancer be gone from his 31 yr old body. We know that there is a GREAT PHYSICIAN who knows all and just pray that GOD'S will be done. Also Pray for the group, Southern Harmony Quartet...I had such a wonderful time singing with them and I hope if they ever need a voice again that they will call me. My favorite song from the weekend that we sang was "I AM REDEEMED"!

I will include some great pics from the weekend on here...Love you all!

Have a blessed day!

WOW!

Can you believe this year is almost over...an old year has completed its course and a new year is smiling down upon us! As I sit here looking back over the past year, I am very thankful for everything I have. Yes times have been tough for everyone...the economy is bad, friends are losing jobs...I am thankful that my job so far is still available to me. I am thankful for my daughter! I am thankful for my Christian family! I am thankful for music!

Here the past week I have been listening to a song called "THANK GOD FOR A SONG"! I have fell in love with this song and I am thinking of placing it on my next recording! I do not know where I would be in my life if it were not for a song...I am thankful to GOD daily for placing a song in my heart to be able to share with others. This year in 2009 my goal is to spread the love of Jesus to everyone I can...

We had a wonderful Gospel Music Extravaganza on the 27th of December in Cropper! We had a great crowd and the groups were wonderful. I had the honor of starting the program off...it was so much fun! Then The Patriot Quartet from Salvisa, KY followed and was wonderful - It was great to see long time friend, Joe White there! Next up was The Garry Polston Family...they were great as usual. They have a great sound with Tracy and he is doing a great job! Following PreacherP was GloryCrown Quartet...they did a great job. I just love to hear Bro. Larry sing...he has such a smooth voice. Then we took intermission and had drawings for CD's and National Quartet Convention tickets! WOW! Then each group took another 10-15 minutes to sing a little more before turning everyone away. We had a wonderful evening and plans are in the works for the concert next year.

As a reminder,...I would love to come and sing for your church! I am scheduling for 2009 so have your Pastor or Music Minister give me a call! It is time to begin working on my new CD...I have most of the music lined out...now what should I call it? Any ideas??

Happy New Year everyone! Think of the new things GOD is going to teach us and the many ways we will see HIM work in this new year!

Psalm 103
Verse 1: Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Love,
Laura K

Christmas 2008

Posted by Laura K on December 26, 2008

Hey everyone!

I hope that all of you had a very safe and Blessed Christmas! Our family got together on Christmas Eve...we all go to the church for candle light communion between 5:00 and 6:00 and take communion and pray together. It is actually a very precious moment and one of my favorites for the year. Then we all headed home to eat dinner...this was Alexis' favorite meal! Mom fixed Hen with all the fixin's...dressing, dumplins, mashed potatoes, lima beans, cranberry salad, rolls...Lord have mercy. I was so glad I couldn't eat like I used to because it looked so wonderful.

Alexis was in a rush to open the presents under the tree so we all headed to the living room to open the gifts for one another. I just sat there amazed at the time we were sharing together and thinking that Alexis surely had not been this good this year! LOL!

Christmas morning we got up to see what Santa brought to us...then we began to get ready to head to Indiana to be with Grandma and the rest of the clan. On Christmas we eat breakfast and since I was soooo sick during Thanksgiving I was definitely looking forward to this meal! We got there and hung out with the cousins playing games until time to eat. The breakfast table was fully loaded...Biscuits with 3 different types of gravy (white, chocolate & red eye), scrambled and fried eggs, sausage, bacon, country ham, tenderloin, potatoes, cinnamon rolls, breakfast casseroles, etc. It was a wonderful time and then we started opening gifts...this year we did something special for Grandma.

Back in the 1980's on Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary, each of their 7 children wrote a story and read it aloud to them. They were great! For the 60th wedding anniversary, all of us grand-children wrote a story remembering the times we have had with grandma and grandpa. Since grandpa passed on, I was thinking this year that we should have the great grand-children write a story about their memories of grandma and grandpa. My cousin, Denise thought it was a great idea so she got the word out to everyone so we could present them to Grandma at Christmas...it was really neat to hear all of the stories from the many different age groups who read their stories aloud...of course, Alexis' was the very best and I surely am not biased. LOL!

I love each and every one of you!

For unto us a Child is Born! Remember that Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

November 2008

Hey Everyone!

Posted by Laura on November 26, 2008

First of all, I want to apologize for taking forever to post another blog. Many things have been going on, and one of them has been sickness. I thank all of you for your prayers and concerns for my health since my surgery June 27th. I was very weak at first, but then I finally figured everything out and started feeling great. Then suddenly November slapped me in the face and I have been terribly sick and even in the hospital. The surgeon and I are working on seeing what is going on and getting me fixed.

You know, now that I think about it, October was busy as well...must be the entire last quarter of the year - In October I spent some time with some family in Indianapolis and then my cousin Bethany Roberts got married in a beautiful outside fall wedding. It was gorgeous and all of the trees had changed colors and leaves on the ground! Beautiful ceremony! I will include a couple of pics for you to see on the site...

November 8th was a great Community Singing in New Castle, KY - my, my, my...we had a wonderful crowd and they were on their feet praising the Lord! It was awesome! (I also have some pics coming for that!)

November 9th, the group "Witness" (all of them are cousins of mine) came to our home church and brought the house down that morning in concert! What a wonderful job they did and I was so proud of them.

The rest of November has been filled with choir practice at church for our Christmas Cantata...I am so looking forward to presenting that on December 14th! Alexis has been busy with ballgames and I have had a ball (no pun intended) going to all of them and cheering her on! Last Friday, November 21st was my birthday,...however I spent it sick as a dog and knocked out with a phenergan pill.

This Thursday is my favorite day of the whole year! I love Thanksgiving! It is a time where our family gets together to eat and sing around the piano all day! We have been doing that our whole lives...it is all we know! There is nothing better than singing to the Lord on Thanksgiving Day - and sometimes grandma will even let loose and start to shout! There is no pressure to give one another gifts...it is a day to be Thankful and I am very thankful for my wonderful Christian family!

I hope all of you have a Happy Thanksgiving and can find something to be thankful for! God Bless you all!

1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness.Let the whole world know what he has done.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Our Beautiful World

Posted by Laura on October 16, 2008

WOW! Can you believe the beauty which surrounds us on a daily basis??!! Tuesday morning I had to get up earlier than usual and head to downtown Louisville,KY for a meeting. As I was driving, the darkness started to fade and the sun began to shine. The sky was so beautiful! After my meeting, I began a new journey to Frankfort, KY to watch my daughter in her Opening Season Basketball Game. Alexis attends the Eminence Independent Schools in Eminence, KY where she is in the 7th grade. LORD HELP ME!

Anyway,...back on track...as I was driving and trying to find my way to the school, I started to notice the beauty around me again. The sun was beginning to set, the trees and their glorious array of colors...Thank you Lord for all of the beauty which surrounds us...may we be more appreciative of your creation!

Even though Eminence lost both of their ballgames, Alexis did a fantabulous job and I couldn't be any more proud of her! She got to start and play most of both games. She had girls being mean and trying to knock her down, and she finally lost her cool during the last 30 seconds of the 2nd game. A girl from the opposing team pushed Alexis one too many times and Alexis grew tired of it and pushed her back. Thus, a FOUL was called! It was so exciting! I was cracking up - Alexis said, "Mommy,...I don't play like that!"

A wonderful and Blessed Day! Thank you Lord for my beautiful daughter Alexis and sending her into my life. She is so much like me that it sometimes scares me...however she makes me laugh and I enjoy being with her ALL of the time! Thank you for my family and the wonderful Christian home in which I was raised!

In HIS Name!
