Laura K. Polston was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky on November 21st of 1974 to Rev. Garry and Lula Polston. Born into a singing family, it would not be long before anyone suspected Laura to sing for the Lord as well. Her father traveled and sang full-time with such groups as The Servants, The Sego Brothers & Naomi and The Brotherhood Quartet just to name a few.
By the age of three, Laura sang on the radio for the first time. Her mother taught her to sing as well as love Southern Gospel Music. She took her to every concert she could while her father was out traveling on a bus spreading the word of God. On Father's Day of 1984 Laura was gloriously saved. Her father led her to the Lord and also had the honor of baptizing her at a river in Greensburg, KY.
Laura continued to sing with her family at local churches while growing up and moving all over the state of Kentucky. She graduated the Henderson County Senior High School in 1992 and went on to major in music at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. Laura also attended the first two years of The Steve Hurst School of Vocal Ministry & Performance.
"It was at the Steve Hurst School that I actually felt the calling from God to sing and tell others about Jesus!"
After college, Laura joined a friend from the Steve Hurst School and formed a group called New Creation. They traveled over most of Kentucky, Missouri and Arkansas. After disbanding the group, Laura went back to sing with her family and sang with them until 2007. They have traveled across many miles and opened up for such groups as The Crabb Family, The Isaacs, The Nelons, Perfect Heart, The Perrys, & the world famous JD Sumner & The Stamps Quartet.
"It has been my lifelong dream to travel and sing full-time in the Southern Gospel Music Industry. Since my father traveled full-time, I had the privilege of growing up on a bus and seeing what he did night after night. I saw the entertainment side as well as the ministry side and watching my father lead others to Christ. I guess I can blame him for making me love it so much! Since I have been in the Banking industry for almost 11 years, I have many duties I perform for our family.
I have learned from many different ladies in the Southern Gospel Music Industry on how to be a true woman of God and to appreciate as well as respect everyone you come into contact with. I am truly thankful for the family I have and the talent the Lord has given me to use for HIS Glory!"
